The First Nitrox Dives & Courses in Drake Bay!
Drake Bay Diving is proud to be the first dive center in Drake Bay to offer Enriched Air Nitrox dives and Nitrox certification courses.
By introducing Nitrox to Caño Island diving, we aim to provide experienced divers with extended no-decompression limits, greater comfort, and an enhanced overall experience in one of Costa Rica’s most spectacular marine reserves.
What is Nitrox?
Nitrox, also known as Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx), is a breathing gas with a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen than regular air.
The main benefits include:
- Longer no-decompression limits
- Shorter surface intervals
- Reduced nitrogen absorption
- Less post-dive fatigue

Who Can Dive with Nitrox?
Nitrox is available for divers who hold a Nitrox certification.
If you are not yet certified, we can guide you on how to obtain your Nitrox certification before or during your stay in Drake Bay.
Our team will:
- Analyze your tank with you
- Confirm oxygen percentage
- Review MOD (Maximum Operating Depth)
- Ensure full safety procedures are followed

Nitrox Certification Course
Not certified yet?
You can complete your Nitrox course with us and become certified to dive with enriched air.
The course includes:
- Theory session
- Gas analysis practice
- Dive planning with Nitrox tables/computer
- Official certification
It’s one of the easiest and most valuable specialty certifications you can add to your diving profile.
